This assignment requires you to pay attention to bodily practices of individuals as they
engage in a religious activity or describe a religious activity or experience. People use their
sense organs, emotions, and mind to engage with religion. What do we learn about their
commitment to a certain tradition, a certain activity (practice), or a certain belief if we pay
attention to the ways they do these religious practices and the emotions they express? This
is the question at the base of your current assignment.
Identify a religious tradition you want to learn more about.
Choose a short clip to view, or a segment from a longer clip from that tradition. You
can choose a clip from the list I’ve provided below or find one independently. I
would be happy to provide additional suggestion for an activity you’re interested in
learning more about but do not see mentioned below.
