In order to be effective in managing information to improve public services, there are several considerations.  Sinek (2011) points out that people are persuaded by what an individual actually believes in, not just what that person does.  Further, Kotter notes that large scale change only occurs when there are massive amounts of people working together on a common opportunity.  Magana (2017) pointed out that technological advancements create disruptions which can generate negative feedback.  Therefore, the number one priority of any public sector official must be to develop a thorough understanding of the digital revolution and to recognize how important advancements in this area are.  As a public administrator, I recognize the opportunities presented to improve the delivery of services in the public sector. “The dramatic developments that we have seen in the Information Age have meant that companies can do wonderful things to advance their brand and products or services and maximize efficiency and effectiveness” (Fischer, 2010, p. 81).  Information technology has the ability to completely change people’s perception of government and can be implemented in a fashion that may restore much of the lost trust in government.  I also recognize that public managers specifically play a crucial role in the adoption and use of technology (Fusi and Feeney, 2018).  Therefore, as a public manager, I will ensure I am also always current on emerging technologies that can improve public sector services.  One way I can do this is by not only regularly studying and researching technological advancements, but by ensuring I hire individuals who are knowledgeable in this field and have a Biblical covenantal perspective regarding the organization and its service delivery.
