1. Compose a Main post in which you address one or more of the following prompts:
What has been the most significant historical idea that you will take away from our class? Did any specific women/groups of women inspire you? Has our birds-eye view of women’s history sparked more historical (or personal) questions for you? Are there any women’s history topics that you would like to study in more detail? How has the studying of history from “Through Women’s Eyes” changed the way you think about history? Have you found James Baldwin’s assessment to be true? (That history is “longer, larger, more various, more beautiful and more terrible.”) Were there any historical things that you learned that have changed or reinforced your previous thinking about history? Do you have any additional historical questions that you would like to explore further? -What is the impact of the first and second wave feminist movements on your life? -Any closing encouragements or thoughts that you would like to share with the class? This is your chance to also say goodbye to each other. smile
Is there a word count? Aim for around 400 words for a main post. But length isn’t the only consideration. As you will see in the grading rubric (see next question), the most important thing is to make sure that you are demonstrating specific historical content from our class material and contributing thoughtful analysis and ideas to our discussion. A thoughtful reply tends to be around 150 words. Should I add specific historical details? As always!
