Throughout your coursework in criminal justice at APU, you have been exposed to ways in which justice potentially plays out differently in our criminal justice system based on ones racial and/or ethnic background. You have also taken and reflected on ways in which our own implicit biases can lead to such inequities. In all, you have discussed and critically examined how these inequities exist at both the structural (criminal justice system) and individual (personal implicit biases) levels.
Audience: Colleagues and other professionals in the Criminal Justice field that you plan to enter. In this assignment, students are to create a 25-30-minute workshop (PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation) in which they teach these concepts to community members (these can be members of your local community, APU community, the community you intend to serve as professionals, etc.). In this workshop students should focus on one issue/ practice/ or concept within criminal justice that illustrates differential justice in criminal justice systems based on race and/or ethnicity. Be sure to include interactive activities that are relevant to your topic in your workshop and an agenda that specifies the times for each portion of your workshop. You will not actually conduct this workshop, you will submit all portions of a workshop as if you would have presented it, you will also discuss your workshop in small groups with your classmates. **The topic is Implicit bias**
