We are in the day and age of bad science. Either good science is being questioned or bad science is being promoted. Because of social media, bad science can spread like wildfire. One click of a button on Facebook and we can share misinformation with thousands of people. Those people are either going to believe the article because it “proves” what their preconceived notions are (term called Confirmation Bias) or others will report it to Facebook because it “disproves” what they believe in. I, by no means, am not saying you can not get information from READING those articles but one usually must identify other sources (credible sources) to give validity to the initial articles claim. In this course, I am going to help you determine what is a “credible” source and what is not. Under the first week in Canvas, you will see a guide on how to spot bad science. Once you have looked over that, I would like you to read the following article regarding the Tree Octopus.

With what you read from the guide, would you say this is a credible article? Which guidelines would you say supports your answer.
